“I am extremely grateful that the SIOR Foundation has rewarded me with the 2019 Mildred C. Hanson Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship will help me pay tuition during my senior year of college. I have always dreamt of working in the real estate industry and am grateful the College of Charleston offers the Commercial Real Estate Finance major to students. I have been fortunate enough to learn from various mentors and local professionals, internship experiences, and College of Charleston professors. With the CREF degree, I am able to sit for the brokers exam upon graduation and will be able to start my commercial real estate career. After graduating in May 2021, I hope to become an active commercial broker in the community, focusing on industrial spaces. With this scholarship, I will be able to focus more so on my career, rather than the financial burden of student loans. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and thank the committee for their generosity of awarding me the 2019 Mildred C. Hanson Memorial Scholarship.”
